Sweat While Watching TV

As summer temperatures rise, we may find ourselves sticking indoors a little longer than normal- especially if the A.C. is on! If you’re worried about your children overheating outside or can’t un-glue them from the television, incorporate this workout. A perfect way to get some extra activity!

We want to emphasize on fun moves and exercises. Exercise should be fun!

Commercial Break Workout for Kids (and Families!)

Here’s the deal: during your favorite show, get up to do the designated moves for each commercial break. Do each move for the number of reps specified.This workout is designed for one hour T.V. show with about 16 minutes worth of commercials. Make good use of that T.V. time! 🙂

Commercial Break Workout for Kids (and Families)

Commercial Break #1

  • Run in place (Two commercial lengths or 60 seconds)
  • Big marches. March in place with your knees as high as they can go. (One commercial length or 30 seconds)
  • 5 push-ups

Commercial Break #3

  • 15 Supermans
  • Balance on Right Leg (One commercial length or 30 seconds)
  • Balance on Left Leg (One commercial length or 30 seconds)

Commercial Break #4

  • 10 squat jumps
  • Imaginary jump rope (Two commercial lengths or 60 seconds)
  • 10 sit ups

Commercial Break #5

  • Right leg lunges
  • Left leg lunges
  • Hold push up position (One commercial length or 30 seconds)

Have shows you watch together as a family? This would be a perfect family activity. Good habits start young! 🙂
